I had a human as a pet. A young boy with a completely broken spirit, whose life was such a disastrous mess that he didn’t even want to think. He only wanted to follow orders. So I said he could be my dog.

So it kind of counts. In spirit.

Oh, no. I don't do something like that very often. Only special cases get that treatment.

[ There's also something about the way that she emphasizes "special cases" that really makes him think that he does not ever want to find out what it means to be one.

That's fine. I should warn you, though. I don't have anything against most animals, but they seem to have something against me.

[Probably. Animals are very sensitive creatures, and they sense bad vibes with ease. The only real reason why her dogs are so deliriously obedient is because of what she is.]

I don't usually go out of my way to try to pet dogs. If they happen to be around, they're wary at best, downright vicious at worst.

[Her smile widens and actually crinkles the corners of her eyes. She has the look of someone imagining (or orchestrating) a future where Warren... wants to give a dog a pet. Yes, how dispicable her grandiose plans can be.]
