[It is London at the turn of the century, and the city is still known for being polluted, overcrowded, and full of crime.
There are nice things about this sprawling home of approximately five million. But when one is arriving in a new world via train station amid the busiest hour, with so many coming and going and boarding and disembarking, an absolute throng of people trying hard to adhere to their busy schedules, the air scenting a bit of smog, it does not exactly make a good first impression.
But it's all right. Ena has arrived, and her detective friend is surely around to greet her. Right?
[Surely he'll be right there waiting for her! After all, she's here on his invitation, and it would be quite rude for him not to be there!
...
...
... Right?
She steps off the train, and undoubtedly gets stares due to her attire. She wraps her arms around herself, staring in absolute bemusement (and the budding, beginning feeling of irritation).]
Looking around, it might be difficult to pick out one single individual from the crowd — all the men appear to be wearing dark colors in the city, so among such a throng of people, frames and faces tend to blend into one another.
She does earn a few odd looks, but most cannot dredge up enough curiosity or concern to do more than go about their business.
[Tall and lanky, with those hawkish features she should recognize. Or would, if he were anywhere to be seen. Unfortunately, she will go several laps without seeing him — she can stack her Anger, for good or ill.
On the nth go, she runs into... a young kid! Dressed in ratty, too-big attire, grime-smeared across his face and hands. He seems to be in a hurry, but when he spots her, he skids to a stop and his eyes widen. He exclaims, in a thick accent-]
[The kid startles, wide-eyed for a moment. But he, too, is a rough-and-tumble sort, and snaps back with just as much vigor. Even if he sounds a bit flustered now.]
Don't you "kind of busy 'ere" me! I'm trying to help you!

No, he's nowhere to be seen just yet.]

He's tall and lanky, right?
And yet.
She can't seem to pick him out of the crowd.
And so Ena sighs aggressively, shakes her head to herself, and begins to stalk her way through the station, looking for him.
She'll do laps if she has to. With each lap, she will get Angrier.]

What. I'm kind of busy here!

[Tch!!!! He shuffles his weight to another foot.]
Are you.... Ena Shino...Uh. Shinonome?

...
Wait.]
H... huh? You know my name?
[... Okay, she may not be Sherlock Holmes levels of deduction, but... only one person here should know her name, surely.]
Did Adair send you, or something?
