Time makes everything more complicated.

[He pauses briefly to look at her, smiling but wan.]

Life wears us down. That’s just how it is, sometimes.

[ with that, he hits her in the stomach. her mouth tastes sour all at once; she pinches her brows together and only notices it when she makes herself smooth her face out again. her exhale, while deep and meant to calm, trembles and jumps as she lets it out. ]

I wanted more than this. Henry.

[ there's the crux. ]

I know.

[This is not news to him. He knows her well at this point. Knows that she wants to be recognized, wants to tear open the folds of the universe to reveal the secrets within, and be respected for it. She wants to learn freely without the weight of a sullied reputation. She wants her parents to suffer greatly.]

I want you to have all those things. I want you to feel like you can use me in any way you need to achieve them. I’m completely yours.

[And surely dating a lich called Vecna is only ever an ace up the sleeve?]

[ a face that can only be described as ;^;

she reaches across the bed for him. he is too far away to properly touch, and so her knuckles brush across the small of Henry's back and then linger there, touching him. ]

[That touch compels him to lean back, propped up on an elbow and twisting on his side just enough to look at her.]

My Sprezzatura, I really wish you would just use me to help you. I mean it, you know.

[He would do anything for her. Even bad things. But surely she knows that.]

It has to be me, Henry. You know this.

It can still be you. I'm just a tool for you to use along the way.

[velluminous]

[ she will not use him that way. she won't. ]

Enough in your life have already done. You get to be person now.

Part of the person I want to be, now… That includes being a part of yours. In every way that matters.

[ holds her arms out to him. cuddles? ]

Abandons his fort efforts to scoot in close and wrap his arms around her.]

[ good. less talking. she wriggles in his hold until the blanket falls free, or free enough, and she is nude and curled up against him. knees to her chest, like an uneasy child. he likely remembers this exact pose from less happy times. ]

You are too clothed.

[vecna]

[Practically fully clothed compared to her. And despite her words, he draws in closer, arms around her nude frame. She looks so vulnerable like this.]

Would you like to help fix that?

[velluminous]

I would like to watch you fix that.

[vecna]

Hm, but what if I just want to hold you...?

[But he will unloop his arms from her and wiggle away slightly, working at the buttons of his shirt first.]

Will I? Or are you going to have your way with me as soon as I'm stripped?

[He is joking but also. She might. And he wouldn't complain.

He sheds his shirt, setting it aside.]

Unlike you... [ breathed, as she gives him an eye-rake ] I can wait.

[He sits up on his knees and undoes his trousers next, opening the fly. Shuffling it down his hips.]

I intend to take that away from you.

Oh, you just like seeing me fall apart, don't you?

[And now... trousers... off! Henry: naked.]

[ she loves that he has never been shy of his body. it makes him that much easier to ogle. the slope of his shoulders and the jut of his hips. his spine, when it is turned to her.

running her finger down one thigh, stopping above the knee. ]

Should I not be allowed my fun, too?

[What is there to be shy or ashamed of? This body, though lesser in many ways, is still more visually appealing to her eyes than his lich form. He's proud to display his naked self, like this, to her. For her only.

Tickly, that touch.]

[ ...leans in, kisses his cheek. and a little nibble, there, too. ahh, her Henry. she still hasn't fully recovered from her doldrums, but after a beat, she pushes herself up to properly sit, then kneel, and cup his opposite cheek. her mouth travels to his ear. warm exhales drift down his jaw. ]

Make yourself pretty in front of mirror for me.

[ because here, in their beloved but cramped home, the mirror lives. in the corner of the room, half-obscured, ornate brass frame and age-speckled glass. it faces the bed. of course it does. ]

[Of course it does. By now, he is well aware of how she likes to use it on occasion, and today seems like one of those days. What a shame to pull himself away from those kisses, though, and those words caressing down his jawline.]

Oh, Ms Vaux wants to watch today...

[Yet not pulling away just yet. Is the bed pretty close to the mirror? He's just going to remain on the bed, right.]
