THE JARS THAT BLEED BEFORE THEY BREAK.

Congrats! You've somehow stumbled upon the pocket dimension where five people with questionable morals (some more questionable than others) live and operate. Are you here on business? Do you have an appointment? Or are you here to see a friend? (Come on, don't make us laugh.)
Maybe you're here on accident due to some multiversal, magical, or otherwise supernatural nonsense? It's happened before, it was bound to happen again.
You can wander towards the house, see if anyone's home. Or you can explore the lush grounds, and maybe run across the wolfman groundskeeper who might try to usher you out towards the nearest portal, anyway. The world is your oyster, just try to be a good guest.

[Monts picks up her drink again, enjoying this weird exchange.]
Still, I'll be the first to rake her over the coals. She's exhausting at times but actually means well.
She did feel bad about breaking that urn by the way. The girl doesn't know her own strength sometimes.
no subject
Being sorry about breaking it doesn’t mean much if she was planning on stealing it from us in the first place. One’s barely worse than the other.
Either way, it turned the whole thing into a bust.

[Monts, don't look so gleeful.]
But hey, you're alive and well! Well enough to visit the cafe again after all this time.

[THIS NEEDS CLARIFICATION]
Me and your golem friend did most of the work. Morgan and Lyra just stood around and did jackshit. Believe me, it wasn’t fun.
no subject
[Or so she says airily.]
Oren's good at that. Cleaning up messes I mean, so you could have worked with someone worse.
no subject
[Oren, he means. What's his story. The golem seems competent enough, but also like a stick in the mud.
(Pot, kettle.)]

[Bemused, Monts sets her empty glass in the sink.]
He's just... Oren. I mean, you can ask me something more specific about him and I'll try to answer. I haven't known him as long as Iona though.
no subject
Specific... Well, firstly, he's not human, right? A golem?
[A big fancy rock! He's not seen many in his time. But it's not a wild concept to Jake.]
no subject
[Monts got used to it over time. He would feel strangely less of himself without his choppy sentences.]
He's the only sentient golem I know though. I got the impression there aren't any others.
no subject
Something like him must have been pretty hard to put together, then.
no subject
I wouldn't know. What I do know is that Iona's grandma constructed him. She specializes in that among other things.
Oren's been through a lot so to speak so he's talented at a lot of things. Mostly domestic but I wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
no subject
[Of course Oren would be good at a lot of things. LIKE DISRUPTING HIS JOB.]
Iona mentioned her grandmother briefly. When you say she specializes in "that", what do you mean?
no subject
I've only met her a few times though so I haven't seen much of her or the things that she makes.
[Monts certainly didn't dislike Berna but she wasn't entirely comfortable around the powerful witch.]
She's similar to Iona but... Not. Hard to explain unless you meet her yourself.
no subject
Similar to Iona doesn't help much, either, because he doesn't really know Iona. Other than the fact that she's got a hell of a strong, gemstone arm.]
Meet her? Maybe. Oren popped in without warning, why not two uninvited people?
[don't look at that thread with thomas, jake]
no subject
He's very stubborn, isn't he? Hope he didn't try to clean up your place.
no subject
From what I heard, he was in a hurry to leave.
no subject
[It is weird how Oren had found them and hadn't told Iona anything. In a way, it didn't seem like him but Monts has worked it out that he's probably doing it for Iona's sake; a sort of "ends justify the means" sort of thing.]
I think it's just that he had a set schedule in his mind to get through when he visited you and he stuck to that. He's not one to waste his punches, if that makes any sense.
no subject
[Figures.]
...Probably for the best.

no subject
Hell no. Terrible upkeep? I keep a clean house, thank you very much.
no subject
[Monts is a playful teaser, no one is safe.]
Anyway, if you have a door to this cafe you'll have another place to destress. Just don't be mean, 'kay?
no subject
Very funny.
Yeah, yeah. So does the door just appear whenever I want it to, or is it random…?
no subject
oren should have gifted him the mr. clean magic erasers...Monts shakes her head.]
You can't will the door into existence. It already exists everywhere and anytime. So basically, yeah, it's random. Maybe it does appear more often to people who seek it out but it just kind of is there on its own time.
no subject
Do you think the door will appear again to any of the others…? Back where I’m from.
no subject
[Sorry Michael...]
We try to be open consistently on weekends but the hours are definitely all over the place. I mean, I'm running everything here by myself right now. Oren's finishing up some errands, and Iona has some finals to finish up...
I'm their first actual employee so they're okay with me being alone in the Grind.
