[ She'd told him she'd finished the new gun. She'd told him she'd meet him outside to test it out, since she tends to be like a proud mother with her inventions. She wants to see them be used, to be utilized, to reach their full potential and to know that she did as amazing a job as always.
... Well, she had finished the gun and she had intended to meet him outside, but she... doesn't show. For good (to her) reason, of course.
Namely, she's still in her workshop fiddling with new additions to the weapon and humming rather happily to herself. She'll remember one day. ]
[Jayden isn’t used to being left high and dry, and with only a few minutes of waiting, he decides he very much doesn’t like it. There’s a saying, after all: Time is money. But time is a lot of things, too — a precious resource that can be refined into what a person makes of it. The most powerful men or women are the ones who use this resource wisely, and to know it’s being wasted when he was told otherwise?
Well, it’s a little annoying.
So, where could she be? Jayden imagines it’s where she’d be any other time of day, holed up in her workshop, forgetting about her other daily obligations, apparently. At least it’s an easy saunter right through the front door of the building, spotting her fiddling at something-or-other at a workbench, and announcing his presence as he approaches.
He smiles all the same, but that’s not new.]
Forget something? Or should I say, someone? Now then, what could be so important?
[ Da Vinci says this matter-of-factly, hardly lofty about it as she smiles rather triumphantly and lifts her masterpiece off the bench and cradles it like a proud mother holding her first child. ]
I was just allowing this little beauty to act not only as a gun but as a flamethrower and dispenser of lightning, that's all!
[Any dissatisfaction—hidden so well under the smile—fades at the sight of the contraption held in her arms. A firearm with the potential to burn, to send lightning careening at the enemy. What a concept! The power of elemental spellcasting at the pull of a trigger — and without the need for magic at all.
His smile spreads, sincerely delighted at the sight and the very idea.]
So you went above and beyond what I asked for? I guess I’ll forgive you. [He laughs.] Let me see it!

[ She says, probably far too blithely, but obligingly, she offers him the gun. ]
Obviously don't test it out in here, though. I'd be pretty dismayed, to put it lightly.
