Arthur likes people, and he likes to see them thrive, and he is afforded the chance to see the latter so rarely, save those brief moments before a patient is discharged, looking pleased but ultimately weary and ready to return home. Outside the hospital walls, it is like a whole new world.

The cab drops him off at the gate, and he treks his way up to the door.
