[He feigns a beleaguered tone, though it means next to nothing as he's drawn closer willingly, his hand raising to run fingers through Alec's hair as he brings their faces closer together.]
Against my better judgment, yes.
[He loves him almost too much; with every atom in his body.]
So, is the offer still open for me to see how it went?
[ he has long, long since stopped having things to hide from Henry. he's practically an open book for the psychic, and in this case, he is especially welcome to come take a walk through Alec's memories ]
[After already being in Alec's head more than once, Henry can sense that door's now swung wide open. And he knows he's welcome to stride past the threshold at any time.
But he'll always ask first. It feels sacred between them, this trust, shared with no one else in the universe.]
Then close your eyes, and think back to when he contacted you, and all that came after that.
[ Alec does as told โ and given that these events happened mere hours ago, they're fresh in his minds. From those first text messages to the moments where he looked through Temp's eyes as she slipped through the facility to the confrontation with Brenner himself. It is all there in exquisite detail for henry to appreciate.
[He can find it in his heart to forgive you for that, Alec.
Henry closes his eyes, too, and then he's in. The memory plays out from beginning to end in fresh detail from Alec's perspective. Every sensation is like he's there, beside him, viewing so much: the text exchanges, the use of Tempest to infiltrate the lab, stealing Brenner away, breaking his wrist, ending his life with such a brilliant display of magic.
And he soaks in every moment. He'll remember every word exchanged, the look on Papa's face, the roar of thunder in his ears. The position of the man's corpse as he lay lifeless, his clothes smoking from a seared hole in his chest.
When he pulls himself out of Alec's mind, he does so with a gasp that surprises even himself. His heart is throbbing in his ears. The satisfaction, the spike of adrenaline, that's all very real from seeing all of that, and he's feeling it.]
That was... [Give him a moment.] That was everything I hoped it would be.
[ It's kind of satisfying to be able to walk through those moments again himself. Alec doesn't regret for one moment his actions. The words and the abuse flung back at a man who used to dole them out like candy.
When Henry pulls away with that gasp, Alec curls his arms around him and lets him sit with the memories a moment. ]
I'm glad you approve.
[ Alec is especially proud of any and all instances of electrocution. ]
[And Henry is bursting with pride, too. Alec did spectacularly, and all for his sake. The thought is a warm constriction around his heart, despite the way his blood still rushes through his veins.]
More than approve. There wasn't a minute I spent in that lab where I didn't imagine fanciful ways of killing that man. Even on good days.
[Even on the days where nothing notable happened; days where he could have a conversation with Brenner and not feel every ounce of hatred boiling up in him. Those days existed, too, but that anger never left him. Knowing he was a prisoner was never something he forgot about.]
In a way, you've just freed me from another prison. His memory, always lingering.
[ The way Alec smiles always takes on new dimensions around Henry. His usual grins that sit heavy with sarcasm or sharpened to a fine edge with danger, are melted away into something warm and genuine and only for Henry to see. He smiles like that at him now, lifting a hand to brush a bit of Henry's hair away from his face. ]
[ Every day, I fall in love with you more. The reverse is true as well. Every day that he's fortunate enough to wake up next to this man, every moment they share, even the ones where they give each other shit for no real reason โ maybe even especially those โ just tightens the hold that Henry Creel has on his heart.
And Alec would have it no other way. ]
You really don't have to, but if you've got some kind of idea, I might be willing to hear you out.
Alec shifts their positions a bit, easing Henry over to settle on top of him properly. It makes it easier for Alec to pass his hands over his back, following the curve of his spine up to his shoulder blades and back down again to his rear. ]
And oh. Funny how the press of Alecโs body is associated with a sense of comfort, now. A grounding warmth that wasnโt completely present the first time they fell into bed together โ how far theyโve come.
Not to say that it doesnโt spark that little flash of desire in Henry again, of course, the way his hands trail down his back, up and back down to his bottom, almost sending a shiver running along his spine.
He turns his head so that Alec can see his profile, and he can view him out of his periphery.]
I think Iโm starting to appreciate the view from down here.
[ Alec leans down, tracing the line of Henry's collar bone with his mouth. Surely he can feel the way Alec smiles against him, the warmth of his breath as he huffs a laugh. ]
[Absolutely not just now. The view is always a nice one; it helps that Alec is far too handsome for his own good.
But why not see what he means by "try harder"? He gnaws at his lower lip, keeping a sound caged in his throat. An invisible touch slides up and down Alec's back, instead. Teasingly-]
And to think you might have been holding back before.
