James can already tell that this isn't going to go anywhere, not really, not with her so oblivious and so nervous -- but teasing her would be fulfilling enough, and maybe enough to get it into her head that someday, if she ever feels so inclined, that he'd be eager to keep her warm on any cold nights if she asked.
